The First Steps in Floral Art
In the Essential module, students will learn all the basic concepts and techniques, essential for working as a florist. This module is suitable for people who, regardless of whether or not they have already had any contact with flowers or floral design, want to start a career as a florist, but also for people who want to learn the techniques, using them as a hobby and not as professionals. The Essential module lasts 21 hours spread over 3 days, totaling 7 hours per day (10am to 5pm).

Content:
1. Correct cleaning for each type of flower.
Students will learn how to choose and clean flowers, and identify all the parts to be preserved and discarded, according to the floral design that will be created.
2. Maintenance care according to the floral design.
The best methods for caring for and preserving flowers will be discussed, including stem pruning techniques, vitamins and adequate temperature control.
3. Knowledge of tools for daily use.
Students will be introduced to the essential tools of a florist's daily work, learning to select and recognize the different options available.
4. Materials needed for a florist.
All the materials used by a florist will be explored, ranging from flowers and scissors to paper, bows and other accessories, in order to understand how the elements can convey the professional's image and style.
5. Floral foam design techniques.
Students will learn various techniques for using floral foam, including the correct way to handle it, its advantages and disadvantages, as well as application possibilities.
6. Sustainable Floral Design Techniques
A sustainable approach to creating floral arrangements will be presented, exploring the cases in which this technique can be used, its benefits and challenges.
7. Creation of a table arrangement – Design in Foam.
Students will be challenged to apply the techniques learned to create their first table arrangement in OASIS MaxLife foam.
8. Textures, pantone, depth and transparency in floral art.
Concepts related to color harmony, creating a sensation of depth, points of transparency and the appropriate use of available tools will be explored.
9. Creating a table arrangement – Sustainable Design | EAF's favorite.
Students will improve their skills by creating a more complex table arrangement, using techniques, lots of creative inspiration and additional resources.
10. Creation of the famous A Florista bouquet.
The creation of a spiral bouquet will be covered according to the premium standard of the renowned brand A Florista Lisboa, applying all the techniques learned during the course. Together we will make that perfect bouquet that stands up in a spiral with a loose, free, elegant and very natural design. To complement the majestic design of our bouquet, we will wrap it as a gift and hydrate it in water for transportation.
11. Floral photography.
Students will learn how to use available tools, such as cell phones, to create high-quality photographs that convey the details of their work and the essence of their floral creations with a lot of artistic personality.

Certificate:
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees receive the EAF Certificate (Lisbon School of Floral Art) signed by trainer Tatiana Vieira.
What the Course Includes:
All materials necessary for learning and carrying out the work, flowers, equipment, accessories and use of vases for each design to be created at EAF. There is always our coffee break to enjoy moments of sharing.
